Hi Annette

Wow, you certainly caught my attention with the Magnesium deficiency association with Asthma. So many young children seem to suffer with Asthma. Most certainly makes even more sense now to swap from white jasmine rice to brown rice. And I love peas even more now too! :)

Your comments truly to hit home that we are what we eat.

Many thanks.

I agree. The way the mind and body interrelates continues to fascinate me. This is not one single molecule in our body that stands in isolation and every one of them feeds some information back to the brain. "You are what you eat" is very true, but even more powerful is "You are what you think"

I've read a lot about the brain in your gut. The fact that it has it own neurons that send information to the brain in your head is quite enlightening. Showing the connection and bringing meaning to the phrase "You are what you eat".

You are right about being human and one of the most beautiful things about being human is that we have conscious control of how we respond to all those outside influences. We are all on a personal journey. Some of us know where we are going and plan whilst others go where others take them.

Life is about growing wings.

Thank your for the comment.

Mindset is a major factor to myself and my life.

I like to think that 'most' days I am a happy and vibrant person, though some days I am not and need to pick myself up again. Sometimes I can also be affected by outside influences and how I react to them, especially when it comes to those closest around me or family. One thing that helps me personally is that I remind myself that I am human. There is a little saying that I like and that is ~ If I was perfect, I would have wings. ;)

I really like your site to which can help many. Thank you.

Hi Audrey and thank you for your question.
In some great research it has been proven that genetics only contributes 50% to our personal emotional development. Life circumstances contributes 10% and 40% is directly related to the choices we make. The daily choices we make, have a significant affect on our emotions.
There is also evidence that we can change the 'wiring' in out brains if we choose to. All of this gives a person suffering from depression hope that he or she can create a better emotional world for themselves.

Hi, thanks this was an interesting read... You talk about information received by the five senses but what about the information that is part of our genetic inheritance.. does that play a role?
